We have SEVEN goat kids available! 4 female and 3 male, all purebred Nigerian Dwarf Goats (will be registered soon). They're disbudded as well. If anyone is interested in an intact male to be their new herd sire, please PM me or contact me through our website soon. (We typically band them around 10 weeks and sell them as wethers.) And then there were 7 (baby goats). This little surprise happened today! I was sure that Duchess was not pregnant, though she was bred late November. Well, she proved me wrong! This sweet tiny cutie was born sometime late morning while I was at work. 🥰

This "little" round "seal pup" is about ready to pop! I moved her into the "birthing suite" tonight to make sure she has her own space. Which means I had to move the triplets and their momma out and into the main pen. They were excited to have more room to frolic and new goats to try jumping on.

If my barn was bigger I'd keep all three! Please DM me if you're interested. I am willing to help transport them (within reason).

What a great way to wrap up this year's kidding season.The last two kids just arrived three days early! It was a very long day, but a very good one. I was the most nervous about this last kidding because Mojo is a first time mom. However, she did amazing and motherhood instantly clicked for her, which doesn't always happen.

And wow, three sets of twins this year! This last set, both girls.

This also means our second buck is a good breeder, as four of these kids are his!

And, it means our changes to improve fertility is working. My goal: no singles, but also no quadruplets.... Twins are the best in my book!

It was fun to see these kids play together for a little bit today. The size difference is pretty significant, 3 weeks vs 3 days. I wish they would hold still enough for better pictures!

This momma goat deserves a round of applause for not only birthing these two cuties without my help, but she also timed it so that I did not miss work, a meeting, or my daughter's spring concert. (Though yes, it made for a crazy day!!! And my pants are still dirty.)

Welcome to the world little ones! Kidding season has officially begun. These two cuties arrived this morning. Maple (doeling, white with reddish-brown spots) and Aspen (buckling, white with black and brown spots) were both out and bouncing around like they'd been doing this goat-thing for years. Everyone is doing well and is snuggled up in fresh deep bedding.

I am Exhausted.

We use the deep litter method to keep the goats warm in the winter, which works great... But, cleaning out probably 2 feet of spent hay (and such) after winter decided to abruptly end this week with an 80 degree day, well... It took seven hours. (Dear Santa, please bring me a tractor)

On the plus side, it's done and we're just about ready for babies! Duchess is due this week. I just need to resupply our kidding kit and put down some straw and then I'm ready!

Last image, Duke snuggled in the corner. Duchess and Duke were our first goats, just kids back in 2018. Crazy they're both turning 5 this year.

I am Exhausted.

We use the deep litter method to keep the goats warm in the winter, which works great... But, cleaning out probably 2 feet of spent hay (and such) after winter decided to abruptly end this week with an 80 degree day, well... It took seven hours. (Dear Santa, please bring me a tractor)

The goats enjoyed the blue skies and crisp winter air today after many exhausting hours of shoveling paths and fencing. Found a lot of broken electric fence insulators... Going to have to figure out an alternative! Can't have them breaking every time we get a blizzard.

Anyway, look at that fur baby's coat. She's got her daddy's thick fluffs. Same with Agate (her half sister). Buckles makes winter proof kids!
